Unknown to the rest of the SRC, the council included three former security police spies: Craig Williamson (standing, fourth from right), Derek Brune (seated, third from right) and Arthur McGiven (seated, second from left). This photograph was provided by the National Union of South African Students (NUSAS) for reproduction on page 151 of Julie Frederikse's book 'The Unbreakable Thread: non-racialism in South Africa' originally published by Ravan Press in 1990.
