Description: This is part nine of the Security Legislation Directorate (SLD) file (file number 2/4/2/121) on the United Democratic Front (UDF) in terms of internal security: control of organisations. This file was opened on 13 October 1987 (no closing date for the file is recorded) and contains among others correspondence and documents of the Directorate of Security Legislation, the Department of Justice, the National Intelligence Service, the South African Police and Standard Bank on the subject of UDF finance and funding and the unrest in Natal. Included are the judgment by J. Ludorf in the matter Patricia Mary Flemmer and the State, a memorandum on the action taken against radical organisations in terms of the Internal Security Act (Act 3 of 1953), a motion application in the matter between the UDF and the State and extracts from a discussion paper prepared for the UDF NEC titled 'Notes on the present situation'. The documents date between 1987 and 1989. All the documents are photocopies. These copies were released by the National Archives in respect of PAIA request number 2011-0127-NAR.
