SAHA outgoing and incoming staff
Join us in welcoming our new Interns!
Having said farewell to the Freedom of Information Programme (FOIP) intern Nancy Nkoko, SAHA is pleased to announce three new arrivals.
Thandeka Zulu, FOIP Intern
Thandeka graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2014. She majored in political studies and international relations. The internship at SAHA is her first work placement. This is what Thandeka had to say on her first day:
"I’m very excited to join SAHA and I can’t wait to get NGO experience. I am hopeful the work here will contribute towards empowering me for when I start my own NGO someday.”
Thabelo Ramasala, Admin Intern
Thabelo studied at Sedibeng College where she obtained her N6 in Management Assistant. She is also the first to hold the position of admin intern at SAHA and just like Thandeka, this internship is Thabelo’s first entry into the South African workforce. Thabelo had this to say about her new role:
"I remember getting the call from SAHA about my appointment, I was so excited! I’m prepared to learn more about the NGO sector as I was not familiar with it and as an admin student, I hope to gain valuable experience and guidance to help me develop in my career."
Miranda West, Visiting Intern
Miranda is a visiting intern from Bard College in New York. She is studying towards a degree in Art History and she will be with SAHA until August 2015. The internship was made possible by the Centre for Civic Engagement Programme at Bard and the University of the Witwatersrand.
"I am interested in how the socio-political issues of South Africa have defined the past and current social space. I feel that my internship with SAHA will enhance my knowledge on current social justice projects. I feel lucky to be here at SAHA and in South Africa during this exciting and challenging political climate."
