This is an offset litho poster in full colour with a photograph of the Voëlvry artists. This Afrikaans poster was issued by Shifty Records and the Vrye Weekblad for the two-month long Voëlvry music tour of mostly South African university campuses (from which they were mostly banned from performing) during May and June 1989. The text reads: "SHIFTY Records & Vrye Weekblad bied aan : die VOËLVRY TOER : BERNOLDUS NIEMAND en die Swart Gevaar : ANDRÉ LETOIT : Gereformeerde Blues Band". A high resolution digital image was donated by Catharina Scheepers for SAHA's Shifty Records Legacy Archive Project. This poster was digitised by ORMS in 2014. Included in the SAHA physical and virtual exhibitions 'What you won't hear on the radio', developed to mark the 30th birthday of Shifty Records and the 25th anniversary of the Voëlvry tour. |
